Dr. Long, professor of education, was selected in May 2007 to serve as Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs. Since coming to Malone College in 1978, she has served in various leadership roles including chair of the Department of Education, chair of faculty senate, coordinator of faculty development, and chair of numerous other faculty and college-wide committees. Dr. Long was President of the Ohio Association of Private Colleges in Teacher Education from 1998-2001. She has offered workshops and seminars on leadership, with particular attention to women in leadership.
Within the
School
of
Education
at Malone, Dr. Long has taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels focusing primarily in the areas of educational assessment and techniques of research. She has used her broad understanding of assessment to serve as an evaluator for various external programs. Dr. Long has also served since 2001 as co-facilitator of the faith and learning seminar for Malone faculty and considers it a privilege to enthusiastically support her colleagues in this essential area of faith and learning integration. In 2007, Dr. Long received Malone’s distinguished faculty award for service.
In
Canton
, Dr. Long is an active member of the Mayor’s Literacy Commission. She has served as an adult bible teacher for more than 20 years and has presented messages at various area churches.
Dr. Long has a Bachelor of Arts degree from

, and a Doctor of Education degree in higher education administration from the

Akron
. She lives in
Canton
with her husband, Bob, who is a structural engineer; they have a son, Joshua.
