participated in a multi-generational mission trip to Guatemala with the Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian of Cary, North Carolina from July 14-21, 2006. Fourteen church members traveled together to learn of the cultivation of coffee. The primary purpose of the trip was to study the possibility of establishing a partnership arrangement with the village of Pala, a Maya Quiche' village west of Guatemala City. The Presbytery provided nine thousand coffee plants to this village to replace those destroyed during Hurricane Stan. Kirk members worked with the villagers to plant some of the coffee. A journal with details of the trip and notes on lectures the group heard during their week of travel were kept and a journal published for group members by Nayda and Jennifer Muise. |

She is an active member of the Canton Chapter of American Guild of Organists, and the Dover/New Philadelphia Chapter of MacDowell Music Club. Nancymae is a certified Lay Speaker in the United Methodist Church. She is secretary of the Conference Committee on Lay Speaking and the Tuscarawas District Committee and Tuscarawas District Association of Lay Speakers. She enjoys traveling all over the United States. |

was named the 162nd Fighter Wing Officer of the Year (2005) during an awards ceremony at the Tucson Air National Guard Base on February 5. He received the honor for his leadership in guiding his staff's work on the base's newspaper, the El Tigre News, which was named the best in the Air National Guard, and second in the U.S. Air Force Media Contest. Additionally, he hosted visits from Polish national news media representatives covering the graduation of the first Polish F-16 pilot who graduated from the unit's F-16 training program. Additionally, he hosted news media from a variety of news organizations during the rollout of the F-16E/F Block 60 aircraft. His office also was named the Section of the Year. The 162nd Fighter Wing honors the outstanding personnel and sections in the unit each year. Carlos had previously served in the U.S. Air Force prior to joining the Arizona Air National Guard in 1991. He plans to retire from the military in November after more than 31 years of service. |

His response to the Vatican, "Petrine Ministry and Christocracy" (published in One in Christ, January 2005) calls for a new vision of Christian unity under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, following in the wake of Everett Cattell's address at the 1970 St. Louis Faith and Life conference among Friends. Paul recently received a $300,000 Lilly grant, funding the George Fox University Congregational Discernment Project, helping eight Christian traditions implement wisdom from Quaker decision-making process within varying administrative structures (website: discernment.georgefox.edu). Paul has served as Professor of Biblical and Quaker Studies at George Fox University since 1989 and served as a visiting scholar at Princeton Theological Seminary on his sabbatical during the fall of 2004.
