My decision to come to Malone was all about logic, but it changed my life in ways that I could never expect. I was attending college in Cincinnati when I was offered an exciting job at a camp. But the camp was five hours from Cincinnati. There was no way I could stay there and take this job. I researched Christian colleges nearby that offered theology degrees and my choices were very limited. I visited Malone, felt comfortable enough, and decided to go there. After all, I just wanted a college that was close where I could finish my degree as fast as possible. I did not expect my life to be changed.
I was a commuter who worked full time off campus and lived an hour away. So my time on campus was not spent hanging out in the dorms, cheering at football games, or strumming a guitar on the quad. I was in class, meeting with professors, or studying in the library. Even though I did not have the typical college experience, Malone changed my life. Malone's professors in the theology department are incredible. Small class sizes enabled me to really get to know them, and they knew me. I was invited into their homes, they prayed for me, I met their families. I came to respect them and their lessons in class rang more true because I knew they were people that lived their faith, not just talked about it. I walked away from Malone at graduation feeling like I understood my place in God's world. My mind and my eyes were wide open, my hands were ready for work and my heart was full. I am forever endebted to the fantastic people at Malone University.
