Resident students with a computer that meets the minimum requirements listed below can be connected to the Malone network. A Guide to Using the Malone Network is provided in each residence hall room for detailed instruction.
Please contact the Information Technologies Help Desk at x8428 if you need assistance. Please note: The IT Department does not provide PC repair service or support beyond on-campus network connectivity.
Minimum Computer Requirements
Current Anti-Virus Software
Resident student computers must have current anti-virus software, that is, anti-virus software that automatically updates itself in order to defend against new viruses. Current anti-virus software is required on all resident computers in order to protect all Malone resident students. Malone College does not endorse any particular brand of anti-virus software. Current Anti-Spyware/Adware Software
Resident student computers must have current anti-spyware/adware software. Products such as Adaware, Spybot S&D, AVG Anti-Spyware or Microsoft's "Windows Defender" will keep your computer free from spyware and adware. It is the students' responsibility to make sure their computers are in good working order before, during, and after they are connected to the Malone Residential network. Please review the "Is My Computer Ready for the Residence hall" page.
*SP stands for Service Pack. Service packs are available for download from Microsoft.com
