Almost everyone has received some unwanted email message, or Spam, in their email mailbox. Although most of the Spam comes from advertisers, an alarming amount is from virus-infected or pornographic sources. Many have contacted us for help in reducing the amount of Spam email they receive.
Set up a separate email account at a public email service such as Yahoo or Hotmail. Use this address when you are asked for an email address while engaging in e-commerce or other Internet transactions. Use your Malone email account for college purposes.
Do not forward a message to everyone you know before confirming its legitimacy (see below). One reason misinformation spreads is when users participate in email chain letters. If you are not sure about a virus warning or any other suspicious looking email message, please forward the message to infotech@malone.edu and we will verify its legitimacy.
