Track One Procedure for a trip independently sponsored
Attend Malone Cross Cultural workshop. A workshop will be offered at least once each spring and fall semester.
Complete the Cross Cultural Experience application form and submit it to the CCE Coordinator.
There are three possible outcomes to an application. It may be 'approved', 'not-approved', or 'referred'. If an application is 'referred', the student will be encouraged to work with the CCE Coordinator with a view to resubmitting a stronger, revised application.
For 'approved' applicants, students are required to keep extensive field notes while on their trip.
Upon returning, a number of meetings between the student and CCE Coordinator are arranged. These sessions will facilitate re-entry reviews and assistance in the construction of research papers.
Student 'writes-up' his or her cross cultural experience in the form of a 10 page research paper and submits it along with the field notes taken during the trip.
Paper receives final grade.
Track Two Procedure for a trip sponsored by Malone
Attend workshop and/or other orientation sessions arranged by Malone trip facilitator/leader.
