Welcome from the Director of the Graduate Program in Christian Ministries
Thank you for your interest in the Master of Arts in Christian Ministries program. I am delighted you took the time to inquire about our graduate program. The Christian Ministries program is designed to meet the needs of individuals who are leaders in the church. Our students include four categories of individuals. Some students are already serving in a pastoral role and are seeking to complete their graduate education. Other students are seeking to prepare for a second career in vocational ministry. Many students desire to stay in their present profession but become more informed and better equipped for the lay leadership role they hold in their church. The fourth category of would be students already are serving in a capacity such as a Minister of Youth or Director of Christian Education. Students come from broad denominational backgrounds with a wide range of age and experiences. This makes our classes interesting and exciting as students share and discuss theological perspectives and the practical aspects of leading a ministry. It is a 36 credit hour program, which has similarities to the first year of a Master of Divinity degree. Classes are offered in Biblical Literature, Theology, as well as practical courses in counseling leadership, youth ministry, and spiritual formation. The advantages of starting your theological studies at Malone include the availability of the campus and the one night a week class schedule. This makes it possible to complete the program of study without leaving your present employment or moving to a distant location to attend seminary. If you would like more information, don't hesitate to contact Graduate Admissions & Student Services or myself at the School of Theology at 330-471-8198. We look forward to hearing from you. May God richly bless you as you seek to do His will, Larry Reinhart, Ph.D.
