Classroom Guidance

This Master's degree program consists of 36 semester hours: 21 semester hours of Foundational Core courses, 12 hours in the Classroom Guidance Core, and 3 hours in an Elective course.

ODE School Counseling licensure revision
We now accept applicants to the school counseling program who do not have a teaching license or teaching experience. The Ohio Department of Education revised the licensure criteria for school counselor licensure, eliminating the requirements of a teaching license and teaching experience, in part, due to the need for school counselors throughout Ohio. It is possible for LPCs and LPCCs to become licensed as school counselors, often with only a few additional courses.
