Band scholarships are earned by taking an audition prior to each academic school year. Malone students and prospective high school students who are not on scholarship are welcome to join the bands and audition for band financial awards. Students who are looking to be music majors, as well as non-music majors, are all eligable for scholarship money providing they meet the academic criteria and the performance standards. Preference for scholarships is given to instrumental positions needed for the bands.
Currently we are seeking Color guards for marching band as well as Bass Clarinet, Clarinet, French Horn, Trombone, Tuba, and double reed instrumentalists.
Students can receive several hundred dollars to several thousand dollars towards their tuition just for participating in the bands at Malone College.
Audition Requirements
Each student should prepare a short solo work and an etude for their band audition.
There will also be a short interview after your audition.
We are looking for students who thrive on high achievement, personal and group goal setting, and students who wish to work hard and perform for the school, the community, and God.
Auditions are held from February through early July for band awards. Students who audition from February through May will receive the highest priority.
