The Women’s Concert Choir at Malone College, under the direction of Rachel Núñez, is a 25-voiced select choir representing most majors across campus. The Women’s Concert Choir performs at campus functions, community events, and in schools and churches across Ohio, the continental United States, and Canada.
The Women's Concert Choir was founded as the Women's Ensemble in 1989 by Dr. Susan Armstrong, who directed the group from 1989-1992. The choir came under the direction of Susan Medley in 1992. Ms. Medley was the group's director from 1992-1998, during which time the choir toured Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania, and Canada. While under her leadership, the group outgrew its ensemble status and was renamed the Women's Concert Choir. In 1998, Dr. Michele Henry became the third director of the choir. Under her direction, the choir, along with the Malone Flute Ensemble, toured in the Washington D.C. area and, in 2001, traveled to the southwestern United States, performing concerts in west Texas and New Mexico. The fourth and current director is Rachel Núñez.
