Mr. Paul Davidson, Education Field Director Beginning with 50 clock hours in EDUC 112 (Foundations of Education), all preservice teachers working toward teacher licensure will participate in 230 - 320 clock hours of field/clinical experiences prior to student teaching. These experiences are designed and supervised by education faculty and include observational, participatory, multi-cultural, and directed teaching activities. At the time of registration for a course with a field experience component, a form available from the education adviser must be completed and returned to the Education Department office in order to process the field placement. A field experience fee is automatically charged to the preservice teacher’s account for each course requiring field experience. An evaluation must be completed at the end of each field experience by the field experience teacher(s) at the assigned school. Completed evaluation(s) are placed in each preservice teacher’s cumulative file located in the Education Office. Preservice teachers should periodically examine the contents of their cumulative files in the Education Office to make certain all required evaluation forms and time sheets have been filed.
