Before student teaching begins, all student teachers must receive negative Bureau of Criminal Investigation fingerprint reports, negative FBI reports, and negative tuberculosis (TB) skin tests.
Fingerprinting can be done electronically at Malone College. The Education Office will arrange designated dates and times with Administrative Services and student teachers will be notified. Graduate students should contact Debbie Mittas at 330-471-8379 to make an appointment. There is a $27.00 charge for BCI, $24.00 charge for FBI. The total charge for both is $51.00. Only check and money orders will be accepted made payable to Malone College. Students must also show proper identification which is a driver's license or state i.d. card. International students must provide a passport. (please note: fingerprinting and BCI services are provided for faculty/staff, students, and alumni only)
The TB test can be secured for a fee of $5.00 from the Malone College Health Center. The Health Director will establish a TB testing schedule.
The TB test must be read by the nurse two days after receiving the test. As soon as you receive your TB card from the nurse, please take it directly to Robin Gerber in the Education Office, Mitchell Hall, Third Floor. The results will be recorded by making a copy of the card and placing this copy in your cumulative file. Please do not leave your original card in the Education Office. If you do not receive a TB skin test at the Malone Health Center, you must have it administered and read by your private physician or a community agency.
If you have any additional questions or comments, please contact Robin Gerber at 330-471-8288.
