Bible & Theology Programs

Do you foresee yourself pastoring a church, serving as a missionary, or teaching at a college?  Are you passionate about studying and learning biblical truth?  If these are areas that you want to pursue, the Bible and Theology Major may be for you.  As a Bible and Theology major, you will gain a greater knowledge of the Bible and historical Christian doctrine.  After completing this program, you will be equipped to pursue graduate work in a seminary or a university.
 
The Bible and Theology major consists of 48 hours. The requirements are:
 
Departmental Core Requirements (24 hours)
  • BIBL 201 - Hermeneutics (3)
  • BIBL (300-400) - Old Testament (3)
  • BIBL (300-400) - New Testament (3)
  • EDMN 101 - Models of Christian Ministry (1)
  • EDMN 421 - Communicating the Christian Faith (3)
  • THEO 201 - History of Christian Thought (3)
  • THEO 331 - Christian Theology I (3)
  • THEO 332 - Christian Theology II (3)
  • THEO 460 - Senior Seminar (2)

Besides the core requirements the Bible and Theology major also requires:

  • THEO 413 - Contemporary Christian Theology (3)
  • THEO 342 - Spiritual Formation (3)
  • 6 hours of Greek (GRK 211, 212), or Hebrew (HEB 211, 212)
  • 6 hours of electives in upper division Bible (3 hours in each Testament)
  • 6 hours of electives in upper level Greek, Hebrew, Bible, Theology, and/or Philosophy.
