Reading Endorsement

The Reading Endorsement offered at Malone may be attached to any of the licensure areas and shall be limited to the age and grade levels listed on the particular teacher license. The courses (21 total hours) which must be completed for the endorsement include the following: EDUC 252, Phonics (3 hrs); 300, Children's Literature (3 hrs); 305, Adolescent Literature (3 hrs); 318, Emergent and Early Reading Instruction (3 hrs); 355, Content Reading Strategies in Early Childhood Education or 357, Content Reading Strategies in Middle/Secondary School (3 hrs); 425, Diagnostic and Prescriptive Reading (3 hrs); ENG 383, History of the English Language (3 hrs).
