Monday Night!
10 Mile RELAY
(Preseason Fun Race Saturday, August 16, 2008)
Dear Coach,
We will be having a 2-mile relay type meet on Saturday August 16th. You would have to enter your team as a club as it is before you can legally compete in an official meet (High School). The OHSAA offices allow the use school vehicles, etc.
We will stage a 5-person relay race with each runner going 2 miles. The course will be the first two miles of the old cross country course but they will encounter a log jump and a mud pit to run through (European Style). When they enter a 10-meter zone the next runner can take off our school mascot (the moose) will be in the area and if the moose touches your runner, 5 seconds will be added to the total team time.
It should be a fun time and we will have college, high school, & jr. high and open teams all competing at the same time. We will start the race at 10 a.m. and it should be over by around 11:30 a.m. with awards given out and everything concluded.
Let us know your attendance ahead of time. You can register individual names the day of the race and pay the day of. We will charge $5 per athlete. You may enter 1 team, 2 teams, etc or even a partial team. Dont leave anyone at home. We will give awards for each Division, ex: high school, jr. high, college, open.
