Academic Standards for Admission

Malone College seeks academically prepared, morally sound, and enthusiastic students who are eager to commit themselves to advanced learning in a Christian community. We’re looking for young men and women who are serious about their work, and who know what it means to have a good time in a good way.

Successful applicants are not simply those with high GPAs or ACT scores. Rather, we will look at you as a whole person, as someone with special talents and goals, and with something to offer the Malone community.

Individuals who apply to Malone want to become better thinkers, better Christians, and better human beings. They are people seeking leadership opportunities, challenges for their minds, and an environment that promotes a relationship with God and understanding of His word.

General Requirements:
Admission to Malone is based on the applicant's high school curriculum, grade point average, post-high school academic work, standardized test scores, motivation, maturity, and other personal qualifications. Admissions standards generally include:
  • High school grade point average of 2.5 or higher
  • ACT composite score of 20 or scores equal to or higher than the national mean.
  • SAT combined score of 950 (SAT or ACT is needed, not both)
  • Non-traditional students without ACT/SAT scores typically take the Otis-Lennon test for admission

General Policies:
The required distribution of high school credit units is:
  • 4 units of English with emphasis on composition
  • 3 units of mathematics (including Algebra I, Plane Geometry and Algebra II
  • 3 units of science (including a laboratory science)
  • 2 units of social studies
  • 1 unit of history
  • 2 units of foreign language
  • 1unit of visual or performing artsat least 2 academic electives.
