Before applying for admission to Malone College, international students must have successfully completed secondary education requirements or anticipate completion the semester preceding entrance to the College.
Admission to Malone College is selective. To be considered for admission, a student should submit the following materials:
- The completed international student application (requested from the Admissions Center).
- Certified copies of original records and certificates mailed by the registrar of each secondary school, college or university attended (translations not acceptable without a copy of the original). Students who have earned college-level course credits in a foreign country comparable to the course credits in the United States system, must transfer those credits to Malone College. Ideally, foreign transcripts need to be evaluated prior to receiving final acceptance to Malone. Students may obtain an application for evaluation of transcripts through World Education Services by visiting their website at www.wes.org or by requesting one directly from WES at the following address and phone number: World Education Services, Inc. (WES), PO Box 745, Old Chelsea Station, New York, NY 10113-0745, USA, Telephone # 212-966-6311, Fax # 212-966-6395 Upon receipt of the evaluation of transcripts from WES, Malone College will determine which credits will be applied toward a degree. Please note that no I-20 will be granted without the student satisfying this requirement.
- The results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for applicants for whom English is not the native language. Scores must be sent directly from the testing agency. A minimum score of 550 is sought by the College. For students whom English is the primary language, results of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT I) or Academic College Test (ACT) sent directly from the testing institution are requested.
- Two reference forms (included in the international applicant packet) from teachers, pastors, etc.
- A signed and notarized Affidavit of Support from a parent, guardian, or sponsor.
* Our standard international student financial aid package for a resident student is a $6,500 grant and $3,500 work opportunity. Other scholarships may be available on the basis of academic or athletic merit. Additionally, we offer two full-tuition scholarships a year. Students wishing to be considered for these scholarships must apply by March 15.
Please know that starting September 1, 2004, The U.S. Department of Homeland Security will charge a $100 fee to any international student applying for a visa. The fee will be collected by mail or by credit card via the Internet -- and students will have to pay it before they apply for their visas to enter the United States.
