Why I love teaching at Malone College
    There is no greater honor than to help equip the next generation of Christians who will infect their world with the Gospel.  These students will take Christ with them into business, education, law, medicine, and the church.  It is crucial that Malone students be rightly mentored during the formative years of their college education.  This kind of Kingdom influence is truly exponential.

New Life Church is a small, non-traditional, evangelical, full gospel fellowship.  With the active participation of Malone students, New LIfe seeks to be a hans-on lab for ministry.

Ministry Philosophy
    To be a Biblical leader in my home, in the classroom, and in the church by
  • being a Godly man, husband, father, and Pastor-Teacher, in that order.
  • giving myself to prayer and ministry of the Word (Acts 6:4).
  • preparing God's people for works of service (Ephesians 4:12).
  • preaching/teaching the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15).

Ministry Experience
    -Primary pastoral care provider and a member of the staff of The Helpline, (6/98 to present) a worldwide, confidential counseling and referral service for Assemblies of God ministers, spouses and their family members.  The Helpline was set up at the request of the Executive Presbytery of the General Council of the Assemblies of God, and is under the direction of the Ministerial Enrichment Office in Springfield, MO.  The Helpline is staffed by graduate level ministers and counselors from Emerge Ministries of Akron, OH.  Since June of 1998 Dr. Johnson has dealt with over 3,200 clergy or their family members, concerning issues such as pornopraphy, church conflict, leadership, family life, finances, relocation, pastoral counseling, addictions, etc.  Visit Emerge Ministrieswww.emerge.org

    Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar (Burma):  From 12/27/96 to 1/10/97 - Taught Bible and Pastoral Theology (1 and 2 Timothy) to underground pastors in Communist Controlled Laos.
 
Research Interests:  Leadership, homiletics and gospel communication, Pastoral Theology, Church health and renewal, Ethics, Culture.
Personal Interests:  Biography, collecting Easton Press leatherbound editions, current events, exercise, fly fishing, history, politics, and the outdoors.
