Purpose Statements

Musical

The Chorale is an organization that performs fine music in various styles and from various historical periods.  It is our aim to perform this music, revealing its full innate beauty.  This requires that a certain level of technical proficiency be achieved as a group, and as individuals.

The experience of rehearsal and performance will provide educational opportunities for the Chorale member to develop skills in vocal production, stylistic performance practices, and music memorization.  Our goals encourage total growth of the individual through personal and group musical expression.

Spiritual

1. The motivation needed to prepare well and strive for excellence comes from our desire to make our music an offering to our Lord.

2. Through annual tour and concerts, it is our privilege and responsibility to provide both cultural and spiritual enrichment to those that hear the Malone College Chorale.

3. Our body as a Chorale should represent the body in Christ.  We should strive to be Christ-like, witnessing to each other and to those to whom we minister.

4. J.S. Bach has aptly expressed the mission of the Chorale: "The aim and final reason of all music should be nothing else but the glory of God and the refreshment of the spirit."
