Collaboration with Cleveland Metroparks Zoo...
In collaboration with the
prestigious Cleveland Metroparks Zoo
(CMZ), Malone College is excited to offer a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Zoo Biology within
our Department of Natural Sciences. Malone College
is an accredited
institution through the North Central Association and is situated in
the beautiful Appalachian plateau of northeast Ohio, approximately 45
minutes south of the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Malone College
also
maintains a large collection of exotic animals including
hundreds of
pythons, boas, pitvipers, crocodilians, monitor lizards, tortoises,
parrots, and mammals, as well as a state-of-the-art
greenhouse. Our Zoo
Biology
majors enjoy small class sizes (average class size is 10 students) and
one-on-one interaction with our professors and animals. Many
of our
students are also actively engaged in different types of research
within the fields of animal behavior, population genetics, behavioral
ecology, and neurophysiology, to name a few. We have
specially
designed this program to thoroughly prepare the graduate for a
professional career in zoo science (e.g., zoo keeping, administration,
research, education), graduate school (M.S./Ph.D.) and/or veterinary
school. As such, this is a rigorous program that is
designed to be
both theoretical and applied. For
