Stark Parks Sanders Rehabilitation Center

Sippo Lake Marina

As a non-mandatory requirement, we offer our Zoo Biology majors the opportunity to obtain additional experiences  working  with the Stark County Parks Sanders Center rehabilitation center.  This program provides direct hands-on experiences with the maintenance and rehabilitation of endemic wildlife and is designed to enhance and augment the student’s zoo experiences.  This program is completed during an eight week period that requires one evening per week, and several weekend rotations working at Stark Parks rehabilitation center located at the beautiful Sippo Lake facility.  This facility boasts a large collection of owls, eagles, hawks, mammals, and reptiles.   The student will become proficient with various treatments such as treatment of broken bird wings (wing wraps) and rearing orphaned neonatal mammals, to name just a few.   This is another excellent opportunity to build resume experience.
