Our
Zoo Biology majors are currently gaining
invaluable "local" experience as animal-care attendants at the William
McKinley Museum's Discover World, located within a 5-8 minute drive
from Malone College. Discover World hosts a first class
interactive
dinosaur exhibit and naturalistic aquatic enclosures where guests can
view many of Ohio's endemic fish and turtle species in a beautifully
designed and visually
appealing environment. Additionally,
Discover
World has many animals including a corn snake, black ratsnake, eastern
milksnake, several ferrets, kestrel, screech owl, opossum, skunk, bats,
chinchillas, and box turtles, to name a few. Our Zoo Biology
majors
help with the daily care of these animals and engage in educational
learning experiences by giving guided tours to various school and
community groups. Although this program is
not mandatory, we highly
encourage our Zoo Biology majors to participate in this wonderful
opportunity to build important resume building experiences.
