This site offers a free software program that helps you design a Bible reading plan. You tell it how much you want to read each day, what you want to read, and how long you want the plan to last. This can be a helpful way to begin or continue a habit of reading your Bible.
Church Calendar Plan—two years
The Daily Office Lectionary will take you through almost all of the Bible in accordance with the church calendar over the course of two years. Each day there are three readings: Old Testament, Epistle, and Gospel or Acts. The Daily Office Lectionary is from the Book of Common Prayer and can be found at http://justus.anglican.org/resources/bcp/lectionary.pdf Chronological—one year
Read the events of the Bible as they occurred chronologically in one year. For example, the Book of Job is integrated with Genesis because Job lived before Abraham. Go to http://www.backtothebible.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=90&Itemid=170 and look under "Bible Reading Guides".
Bible Reading Plan for Shirkers and Slackers—your own pace
Read through the Bible according to different genres. Sundays are Old Testament poetry and Mondays are the Pentateuch, etc. Check off readings as you do them. No dates are listed and there isn't the pressure to get it done in a year. You can find this plan at www.ransomfellowship.org/pdf_notesarchives/Notes_ShirkersSlackers.pdf Read Straight Through the Bible—one year
Read straight through the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. You can find this plan at www.backtothebible.org. Weekly Bible Reading Plan—one year
Read through the Bible in a year, according to weekly assignments rather than daily. Each week includes Old and New Testament readings. You can find this plan at www.intothyword.com. This is a fantastic website with dozens of Bible translations available for free. The search function is very helpful and does all the work of a concordance without the expense.
