Honors Curriculum

 
Honors Program Curriculum (for students who entered prior to Fall 2007)
 
To graduate with Honors Program designation, students complete the following:
  • General Education (9 credit hours, minimum)You can take as many as you like beyond the 9 credits. Choose from the following:
    • GEN 100     The College Experience (1 cr.)     [offered every fall]
    • ENG 145      English Composition (3 cr.)     [offered fall]
    • BIBL 111     The Old Testament (3 cr.)     [offered fall]
    • PHIL 100      Introduction to Philosophy (3 cr.)     [offered spring]
    • HIST 112      World History II: Modern World (3 cr.)     [offered spring]
    • ENG 200      Literature in Society (3 cr.)     [offered spring]
  • HUM 370 Honors Seminar (6 hours minimum) [Prerequisite:45 credit hours]

                 Choose from the following (more will be added):

    • Changing Roles of Men and Women (3 cr.)
    • Global Capitalism and Justice (3 cr.)
    • Life Stories as Cultural History (3 cr.)
    • Christ, Power, and War (3 cr.)
  • Honors Thesis (4 cr. total) [Prerequisite: 75 credit hours]
    • HUM 490 Honors Thesis I (2 cr.)
    • HUM 492 Honors Thesis II (2 cr.)
     
  • The cumulative GPA at graduation must be 3.6.
