Faculty: Social Work

 
 
Position:                Tenure track faculty position, rank open;
                                this is a new position subject to final budget approval in Spring 2007
 
Starting Date:        August, 2007

Responsibilities
  • The normal teaching load is 12 credits per semester.  The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Social Work, with possible assignments in generalist social work practice methods, human behavior and the social environment, and populations at risk.  Other responsibilities may include field work coordination.
  • Advise and mentor students.
  • Serve on departmental, school, and institutional committees.
  • Engage in scholarship and community service. 

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. preferred; candidates must have at least a master’s degree (MSW) and two years of post-master’s professional experience.
  • College teaching experience is preferred.
  • Strong commitment to teaching excellence, community engagement, and scholarly research.
  • Deep personal commitment to Jesus Christ and an understanding of and commitment to the integration of faith and learning in the academic discipline.
Department Information
The Social Work Department is part of the School of Arts and Sciences and currently has 2 full-time faculty members and more than 60 student majors.  The undergraduate program is accredited by the Council of Social Work Education.
 
Malone College 
Malone College is a Christian College for the Arts, Sciences, and Professions, affiliated with the Evangelical Friends Church-Eastern Region. The College has enjoyed significant growth in student enrollments, programs, physical facilities and financial position in the last two decades.  Total enrollment is approximately 2300 students, with 1450 full-time undergraduates as well as adult degree-completion programs and graduate programs.
