Arthur "Woody" Self, Ph.D., served as Malone's tenth president. The hallmark of his presidency was tremendous growth and development. During his five years at Malone, the campus gained (then-College Hill) DeVol Hall and Heritage Hall Residence Suites, the Brehme Centennial Center, and the Alumni Entrance. Enrollment soared from 1,457 to 1,929 as full time faculty grew from 56 to 76. The College celebrated its 100th birthday under his leadership in 1992. The Self years also introduced a graduate school and a football team to Malone College.
