Five Malone Football Players To Compete In Senior All Star Games

Malone College senior football players Rayshawn Cole of Akron (Firestone H.S.), Jason Frantz of Massillon (Perry H.S.), Sean Knight of Dayton (Meadowdale H.S.), Brian Parker of Tipp City (Tippecanoe H.S.) and Brian Landies of Chardon (Chardon H.S.) will compete in the National All Stars Bowl in Louisville , Kentucky on Saturday, April 7. 


Cole was named Second Team All Mid-States Football Association as a defensive back.  He posted 45 tackles, 2 interceptions and 6 pass break-ups on the season.  Frantz was also honored as a Second Team All MSFA defensive back while posting 58 tackles, 4 interceptions and 3 pass break-ups.  Knight, a 6’0, 210 lb. running back, tallied 103 total yards and a touchdown this season.  Parker made valuable contributions from the wide receiver spot.  Landies added 33 tackles, 6.5 TFL’s, 2.5 sacks, an interception and 2 pass break-ups from his defensive end spot.  The game will be played at Holy Cross High School in Louisville with the kickoff scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
           
In addition, Landies has been selected to compete in the first annual Victory Sports Network Senior Classic.  The game is for NAIA seniors and will be played in Platte City , MO at Pirate Stadium on April 21st.  Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. CST.

The Malone College football team had an impressive year finishing the regular season at 7-3 (4-2 MSFA Mideast) and earning a berth in the NCCAA Victory Bowl.  The Pioneers finished with a ranking of 18th in the final NAIA Top 25 poll, just two spots out of the NAIA playoffs.
