Church Shopping?

What's So Important About Church?
You're not alone - many college students don't know where to start when it comes to choosing a church - or even deciding that's it's worth your time.  The Department of Campus Ministries staff would love to talk to you about how attending church can impact you, and how you can go about looking.  Feel free to stop by our office (Barn) anytime to talk with us.  In the meantime, here are some starter resources.

What It Is and Why It's Important
The church has always been a bit crazy....see http://www.relevantmagazine.com/god_article.php?id=7176

How Do I Choose?
Check out the article at this website: http://www.thebanner.org/magazine/article.cfm?article_id=896.  It gives some great tips on what to do and what not to do when it comes to choosing a church.

I Don't Want to Go Alone!
Many Malone staff/faculty have offered to take students with them to church, or to meet students at their church so that students don't have to attend alone.  Stop by the Dept. of Campus Ministries' literature turnstile, outside of our offices, and pick up a list of Malone staff/faculty and their churches for more information.

They're Looking for You
The Dept. of Campus Ministries' annual Church Rush is held each August, where area churches gather in the Barn to tell students about their congregations.  These are churches who make an extra effort to have college students join them in weekly worship.  If you missed this event, a list of Church Rush churches/contact info is available on the literature turnstile outside of our offices.
