Eligibility & Application

Eligibility and Application Process

Eligibility

High school students with a 3.6 grade point average or higher and an ACT composite score of 26 or higher are eligible for the Honors Program at Malone College, but admission to the Program is through an application process.

Transfer students who have participated in an honors program at their previous college are automatically admitted to the Program provided the grade point average is at least 3.6. Transfer students are given credit for previous honors courses. Transfer students who have not previously participated in an honors program must have a grade point average of at least 3.6 to be eligible to apply.

Students who are already attending Malone can also inquire about admission to the Honors Program, and frequently students are recommended by Malone professors. Several students have been admitted after their first semester at Malone College.

Application Process

High ability high school students who have been admitted to Malone College as an "honors admit" will automatically receive an invitation to apply to the Honors Program. The first round of invitations is sent out in January. Once a complete application is received, the Honors Program Committee will review the application and grant entrance to the Program.

Applications continue to be sent out from January through June until the fall cohort of new students is full. However, students can also request an application from the director of the Program.
