Julia Villasenor

Julia. A. Villaseñor is an Professor of Spanish at Malone College. She completed her B.A. in Spanish at the Universidad de las Américas in Puebla, Mexico, her M.A. in Spanish at the University of Akron, and her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction at Kent State University. Her dissertation research in contrastive rhetoric examined the experiences of non-native speakers of English in a secondary setting in regard to standardized writing assessment.
At Malone, Julia teaches a wide variety of courses ranging from Elementary Spanish to the advanced courses in literature and translation. Her areas of expertise include Latin American Culture and Civilization and Linguistics. She is also the advisor for the Spanish Club and the Spanish honorary society, Sigma Delta Mu.
 
Julia has lived in Mexico and Kenya and has traveled extensively in Latin America, Europe, Greece, Turkey, and Egypt, in part inspired by her passion for archeology.
