Position:               Tenure track faculty position, rank open
Starting Date:      August, 2008

Responsibilities
  • The normal teaching load is 12 credits per semester. The successful candidate will teach courses in early childhood education and graduate and undergraduate courses in foundations and human learning.
  • Supervise student teachers
  • Supervise graduate research projects
  • Advise students.
  • Serve on departmental, school, and institutional committees.
  • Engage in scholarship, professional service and community service.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. strongly preferred and will be required at the time of tenure.
  • A minimum of three years of successful teaching experience in P-12 education, particularly at the early childhood school level (P-3).
  • Must articulate an informed understanding of early childhood issues and standards.
  • Multicultural experiences are preferred.
  • College teaching experience is preferred.
  • Strong commitment to teaching excellence, community engagement, and scholarly research.
  • Deep personal commitment to Jesus Christ and an understanding of and commitment to the integration of faith and learning in the academic discipline.
School Information
The School of Education (SOE) supports teacher licensure programs at the undergraduate level for Early Childhood, Middle Childhood, Intervention Specialist, Adolescent to Young Adult, Multi-age, Reading Endorsement, and School Nurse.  At the graduate level there are teacher licensure programs for Administrative Specialist, Intervention Specialist, Reading Endorsement, Computer Technology Endorsement, School Counselor, and a Curriculum and Instruction M.Ed. There are 11 full-time education faculty members committed to collegial and innovative pursuits of teaching, service and scholarship. There are more than 340 undergraduate education majors and more than 120 graduate education students. The SOE also supports and supervises a Child Development Center and Primary School, a Center for Professional Development, and the Department of Health and Human Performance and Wellness Center.
 
Malone College 
Malone College is a Christian College for the Arts, Sciences, and Professions, affiliated with the Evangelical Friends Church-Eastern Region. The College has enjoyed significant growth in student enrollments, programs, physical facilities and financial position in the last two decades.  Total enrollment is approximately 2300 students, with 1450 full-time undergraduates as well as adult degree-completion programs and graduate programs.
