Malone Scores Nine Second-half Goals In 13-0 Win Over Kentucky Christian

 
The Malone College women’s soccer team cruised to a dominating 13-0 win over Kentucky Christian University at home on Thursday afternoon.  The Pioneers took command of the contest with four goals in the first half and then added nine scores in the second frame to blow the match open.  The convincing victory extends Malone’s current winning streak to four games and improves the squad’s record to 6-4-0 overall (2-1-0 AMC North).  Kentucky Christian, meanwhile, dropped to 1-8-0 after registering just one shot on goal over the course of the match.
 
Ten different Pioneers found the back of the net in Thursday’s contest, led by forward Aleesha Denmeade (Jr., North Canton Hoover H.S.), who tallied three goals and three assists.  Midfielder Ashley Dennerlein (Jr., Baden, PA) chipped in with two goals and one assist while midfielder Fleur Wynn-Morgan (Sr., County Kerry, Ireland) and forward Lauren Armbrust (Fr., Chippewa H.S.) each posted one goal and one assist.  Malone keepers Sam Brown (Jr., Butler, PA), Brettlyn Kelly (So., transfer from Myers University), and Merisa Salazar (Jr., San Jose, CA) combined to record the Pioneers’ third consecutive shutout (fifth overall).
 
Malone will return to action on Saturday (9/29) when the squad travels to Rochester, New York for a 12:30 p.m. conference match with Roberts Wesleyan College (4-6-0, 3-1-0 AMC N).
