Malone suffers 3-0 Defeat At Walsh

 
The Malone College volleyball team lost a hard-fought match on the road to NAIA #20 Walsh University Tuesday night, three games to none.  Following the 27-30, 26-30, 12-30 defeat, Malone’s overall record fell to 11-12 (4-1 AMC North).  The Cavaliers, meanwhile, improved to 17-3 (3-0 AMC South) on the season.
 
Erica Gann (So., Meadowbrook H.S.) paced the Pioneer attack in Tuesday’s contest with six kills and three blocks (two solo).  Jennifer Gahagan (Fr., Ravenna Southeast H.S.) followed with five kills and nine digs and Lori Ickes (Fr., Smithville H.S.) posted a team-high 10 digs with three service aces.  Kristen Schoolcraft (So., McKinley H.S.) and Alyssa Dibell (So., Fairless H.S.) also made significant contributions as Schoolcraft tallied four kills and four blocks (one solo) while Dibell dished out 17 assists.
 
The Pioneers will next travel to Houghton (NY) College (8-15, 1-5 AMC North) on Saturday (10/6) for a 1:00 p.m. conference match.
