Pioneers Place Third At ODU InvitationalThe Malone College women's golf team finished third among an eight-team field at the Ohio Dominican University Invitational last Friday and Saturday as the Pioneers tallied a two-day score of 700 (348-352). Bethel (IN) College won the event at 619 (315-304) while Wittenberg University was second at 697, just three strokes ahead of Malone. ODU took fourth at 704 and Walsh University rounded out the top five at 722.
Elena Duncan (So., Winona Lake, IN) paced the team with a score of 172 (88-84) with the 84 being a career low for her. Jen Blocker (So., Westerville H.S.) followed with a 173 (87-86) while Heather Hall (Sr., Bellefontaine H.S.) also posted a career low of 83 in the first of her two rounds that gave her a 175 total (83-92). Other scores for Malone included Jennifer Snyder (Fr., Wexford, PA) at 180 (90-90), Alyssa Westfall (Fr., Ashland H.S.) at 196 (100-96), Laurie Grubb (So., Lake H.S.) at 201 (108-93) and Carinna Baldner (Jr., Hillsdale H.S.) at 205 (95-110).
This week, Malone is idle and will next compete at the Stark Memorial Tournament on Monday, October 15th. |
