The Malone College women's golf team captured the Stark Memorial Tournament at the Brookside Country Club on Monday among a three-team field as the Pioneers posted a score of 360 to defeat runner-up Walsh University, which finished at 384, by 24 strokes.  Mt. Union College placed third at 416.

Jen Blocker (So., Westerville H.S.) led the way for Malone and finished second overall with a score of 84, two shots behind individual champion Tammy Schumacker, of Walsh, who shot an 82.  Heather Hall (Sr., Bellefontaine H.S.) finished second for the team and third overall at 87.  Elena Duncan (So., Winona Lake H.S.) tied for fifth overall with a round of 93, Jennifer Snyder (Fr., Wexford, PA) placed seventh at 96 and Laurie Grubb (So., Lake H.S.) was 11th at 111.

This event concludes Malone's 2007 fall campaign. The Pioneers won two events this fall, including the Walsh Invitational, and placed third in two others.
