Ursuline Defeats Pioneers 86-64; Moves Into Tie With Malone For Final AMC North Playoff SpotThe Malone College women’s basketball team suffered its fourth-straight American Mideast Conference North Division loss on Thursday evening with an 86-64 setback at home to Ursuline College. The Arrows shot 50% (18 of 36) from the field in the opening stanza to take a 41-31 lead into the locker room at intermission. The Pioneers scored the first basket of the second half to trim the deficit to eight points, but then got no closer over the remainder of the game as Ursuline stretched its lead to as many as 23 points in the final frame as it pulled away for the 86-64 victory.
The 22-point triumph marked the Arrows first-ever win over Malone (the Pioneers had won all seven of the previous meetings between the two schools, including an 88-80 victory earlier this season at Ursuline) and improved Ursuline’s record to 12-15 overall and 5-8 in the AMC North. With the loss, Malone fell to 7-19 overall and 5-8 in the division and is now tied with the Arrows for fifth place in the AMC North standings. See Playoff Picture Below

Malone trailed 46-41 in total rebounds and struggled somewhat to get its offense on track, hitting only 23 of 65 (35.4%) field goal attempts, four of 15 (26.7%) three-pointers, and 14 of 23 (60.9%) free throws.
Senior guard Kellyn Murphy (St. Vincent-St. Mary H.S.) paced the Pioneers with 15 points, seven rebounds, and four steals. Freshman guard Allyson Wilson (Firestone H.S.) followed with 13 points, seven boards, and four assists while senior guard Heather Fenner (Shelby H.S.) tossed in 10 points.
