The Malone College School of Business has announced the names of community members who will serve as panelists for its annual discussion series: Technology, Talent, and Values: Incorporating Social Media Technology in Values-Based Business Practices Thursday, March 13, at 7 p.m. in the Fred F. Silk Auditorium of Mitchell Hall, located on the campus at 515 25th Street N.W. in Canton. The program is free and open to the public.
Jim Bray: A graduate of Michigan State University and Army veteran, Jim Bray, CRB began his real estate career in 1966. Bray spent four years in sales and twelve years as a branch manager before becoming president of the firm in 1982. In 1978, along with Jay Cutler, he purchased the company from the founder, E. L. Cutler. Jim has written and teaches many state approved continuing education courses and is the creator of the “Cutler Online Marketing System.” He often speaks at national real estate meetings on technology and real estate. In addition, Bray is a partner and CEO of Canton-based Delta Media Group, an Internet applications service provider for real estate companies. He is a past recipient of both the Associate and Broker of the Year awards form the Stark County Association of Realtors and served as its president in 1985.
Cathy Fischer: Cathy Fischer serves as vice president of marketing for ICI Paints North America. In that role, her responsibilities include developing and managing unified brand and product strategies across all customer segments and distribution channels; new product development; market research; consumer and trade promotions and advertising. Prior to joining ICI Paints in October 2003, Cathy’s career included more than 20 years of experience in consumer and product marketing. Positions included global chief marketing officer at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, vice president of marketing at Rubbermaid Home Products, and various positions at the Procter & Gamble Company, including general manager of Max Factor Cosmetics. She is a graduate of Miami University and has bachelor’s degrees in business management and English.
Dave Griffing: As the director of FirstEnergy’s Strategic Performance organization, Dave’s group provides strategic analysis and support on projects ranging from generation and distribution rate structure and design, global climate change, workforce planning and business plan development. During his tenure with FirstEnergy Dave has held positions in energy consulting, financial reporting, commodity operations and capital investment management. He is also a two-time FirstEnergy Circle of Excellence Sales Award winner and received a Greater Cleveland Distinguished Marketing and Sales Executive of the Year Award in 2002.
Dave graduated from Bowling Green State University obtaining a bachelor of science degree with a double-major in procurement/materials management and production/operations management.
Thomas C. Mordowanec: Thomas C. Mordowanec serves as manager, employee and industrial relations for PPG Industries Inc. PPG is a global leader in the coatings, glass, and specialty chemicals businesses. Locally, they produce specialty chemicals at their Barberton, Ohio facility. Tom has corporate leadership responsibility for all employee and labor relations programs for the glass, fiberglass, and specialty chemicals businesses. Tom has been a human resources professional for more than 20 years and, prior to his tenure at PPG, worked for Alcoa, United Technologies, and Textron. He possesses a master’s degree in human resources and industrial relations from Rutgers University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Charter Oak College.
Dennis Saunier: A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Dennis Saunier earned a bachelor of arts degree in communications at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio.
He has been employed by the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce since September of 1980 when he became the president of the Canton/Stark County Convention and Visitors’ Bureau. He became executive director of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival in September of 1994. He was promoted to executive vice president of the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce mid-2000 and president & CEO of the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce effective January 1, 2001. Locally, he serves on numerous community boards including Arts in Stark, Canton Tomorrow, and the P-16 Compact. Recently he has served on the Stark State College of Technology advisory committee, and is past chairman of the Akron/Canton Regional Foodbank Harvest for Hunger, and past president of the Rotary Club of Canton
