Otsego’s Kelsey Hatfield To Play Softball For Malone College

Kelsey Hatfield, of Haskins and a 2008 graduate of Otsego High School, has recently signed a national letter of intent to attend Malone College in the fall and play softball for the Pioneers.  The 5’7” pitcher was a three-year letter winner in softball for the Knights and she also lettered four years in soccer.

Hatfield has received numerous sports honors in both soccer and softball.  During Hatfield’s sophomore and junior years she received Honorable Mention for SLL. Also, as a junior, she received Athlete of the Week in the Sentinel Tribune and 1st team Wood County and also tied the school record for most strikeouts in a game.  In addition, she was selected as an alternate for Buckeye Girls State by Weston American Legion Auxiliary Unit 409. 

Academically, Hatfield earned Honor Roll recognition all four years and was named Student of the Month for December of 2007.  In addition, Hatfield was invited to the Wood County Educational Service Center to receive recognition for her accomplishments.

Hatfield intends to major in Accounting at Malone.  She is the daughter of Douglas and Rebecca Hatfield of 215 W. Main St., Haskins.
