Chapel of the Johnson Center for Worship and the Fine Arts, located at 2600 Cleveland Ave. N.W.
in Canton. The program is free and open to the public.
Eight short films (total run time will not
exceed two hours) written, directed, produced, edited, scored, and acted by
students will be screened and receive awards from a jury of media professionals. Jurors include Kim Ann Pfau, shorts selection
committee, Cleveland International Film Fest and the Canton Art Film Club; Dan

LAFSC alumnus currently working in Hollywood.
They will be joined by a faculty member of the Los Angeles Film Studies
Program (LAFSC).
While these
student films are primarily learning opportunities for students who desire to
grow as story-tellers and creative vision-casters, Malone College
proudly is opening up the festival for the first time for public viewing. Each
of this year's films tells engaging stories or makes a unique point.
Admission is free, and donations are accepted.
The purpose of
the Open Frame Festival is to allow students to work together developing their
vision, craft, and voice.
The film festival is an event co-sponsored by the Communication Arts
Department, Media Services, and the Student Activities Committee. All of the films in the Open Frame are short films, varying in
length from 2 to 17 minutes. Each film was written, directed, and
produced by Malone students.
A brief awards ceremony will
take place following the film screening.
The Open Frame Film Festival supplements
Communication Arts Department curriculum by giving students an opportunity to
enact skills taught in a broad range of courses and to develop qualities
essential to personal and professional success.
