Troy Richeson, Todd Liberatore Earn AMC Player Of The Week Honors

Troy Richeson and Todd Liberatore, members of the Malone College baseball team, were named the American Mideast Conference Players of the Week for games played April 7-13.  The duo helped pace Malone, which is now ranked #22 in the nation in the most recent NAIA national poll, to a 7-2 week.  Malone is currently 26-9 overall and 15-3 in the AMC.
 
Richeson, a 5’10” senior centerfielder from Minerva (Minerva H.S.), is the AMC Position Player of the Week after hitting .452 with 12 RBI’s and 12 runs scored.  In the nine games on the week, Richeson went 14-31 with three doubles and a triple.  He also collected two stolen bases and walked four times.  In addition, he hit safely in eight of nine games.
 
Liberatore, a 5’11” sophomore lefthander from New Philadelphia (Tusky Central Catholic H.S.), is the AMC Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 with a 1.29 earned run average.  In two complete-game victories, he allowed just two earned runs on 13 hits in 14 innings pitched.  He had a total of 15 strikeouts and only three walks on the week in 4-2 wins over The University of Rio Grande and Notre Dame (OH) College.  He is now 5-0 on the season with a 2.18 ERA.
