Malone Hires Leta (Huntington) Gramlich As New Women's Soccer CoachLeta (Huntington) Gramlich was named the new
Gramlich, a 2004 Magna Cum Laude Malone College graduate, was a four-year starter for Pioneer women’s soccer. She was part of a team that posted an impressive 66-19-7 overall record and a 32-5-4 conference record during her four years. She also lifted her teams to a pair of conference titles (‘01, ‘02), one NAIA Region championship (’03) and an NCCAA national championship (’02). Gramlich posted 57 goals and 33 assists and earned numerous postseason honors including NAIA All-America Honorable Mention (’03), NCCAA All-American (’02, ’03), NSCAA All-American (’03), NAIA Region IX First Team (’02, ’03) and All AMC South Team (’02, ’03). She was also a two-time All-America Scholar Athlete for both the NAIA and the NCCAA. Gramlich served as the head women’s soccer coach at “We’re happy to have somebody of Leta’s experience,” said Malone Athletic Director Hal Smith. “Leta played her soccer at Malone and was one of our students. We’re anxious to see her restore the program to what it was when she was here.” Gramlich is equally as thrilled to be coming back to Malone. “I’m excited to be at my alma mater coaching women’s soccer,” said Gramlich. “The opportunity presents itself to combine my experiences while an athlete at Malone with my coaching experiences outside of Malone. My first year will be challenging but I look forward to taking the necessary steps to building a strong, competitive program.” Gramlich and her husband, David, a ’05 Malone graduate, four-year member of Malone cross country and track & field and also current Help Desk Analyst at Malone College, reside in North Canton. |
