Are you interested in a taking a trip to help a population of people within a culture other than your own?
 
Would you like to help a culture other than your own within the community?
 
Malone College provides TWO ways to do this while also fulfilling the Cross-Cultural Encounter requirement within the general education curriculum.
SOSC211: Cross-Cultural Experience   
(trip pre-selected by student)  
SWK 211: Community Cross-Cultural Experience
(experience selection provided through course)

Key facts
  • Approval required by Cross Cultural Experience committee PRIOR to  trip. 
  • Preparatory work to be undertaken before trip takes place.
  • Trips should be outside of the USA/Canada except for certain designated locations.
  • Extensive field notes to be taken during trip.
  • Completion of a paper during the semester after your trip is completed.

For information on College sponsored  trips that would qualify for Cross-Cultural Experience go to the Campus Ministries website. Many trips are held throughout the year, particularly focusing on Christmas, Spring and Summer break periods.
