Malone Captures Team Title At Red Poling Fall ClassicThe Malone University men’s golf team placed first among six teams at the Red Poling Fall Collegiate Classic held Tuesday at the TPC Michigan Golf Course in Dearborn, Michigan. The Pioneers tallied a score of 306, 12 strokes in front of Hope (MI) College and Monmouth (IL) College, who finished in a tie for second at 318. Spring Arbor (MI) University carded a score of 329 to place fourth, Augustana (SD) College was fifth at 333, and Calvin (MI) College rounded out the field at 345.
Richie Schembechler (Fr., Massillon Washington H.S.), Quinn Parker (So., Canton Central Catholic H.S.), and Michael Strayer (Jr., Riverside H.S.) each shot a round of 76 to finish in a tie for second overall. Justin Lower (So., Northwest H.S.) followed in a tie for seventh at 78 and Ryan Gaughan (So., Lake H.S.) tied for 15th with a score of 83.
Malone will wrap up its fall schedule on Monday and Tuesday of next week (October 13-14) as it travels to Panama City, Florida to compete in the NCCAA National Championships. |
