Walsh Tops Malone 6-0
The Malone University men’s soccer team fell at home to local rival Walsh University on Wednesday evening by a final tally of 6-0. The visiting Cavaliers led 2-0 at intermission and then added additional goals in the 47th, 65th, 74th, and 88th minutes to pull away for the American Mideast Conference victory. The loss dropped the Pioneers’ record to 3-9-1 overall and 1-6 in the AMC while Walsh improved to 5-6-1 overall and 4-3 in conference play.
The Cavaliers held a 16-6 advantage in total shots on goal in the match as Pioneer keeper Derek Jeffrey (Fr., Norton H.S.) made 10 saves.
Malone returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to face Point Park (PA) University in a 2:00 p.m. contest. |
