Malone's Tom Crank Earns ABCA Region Coach Of Year Honor For '08 Season

Malone University baseball head coach Tom Crank was recently named the ABCA (American Baseball Coaches Association)/Diamond Sports Company NAIA Region IX Coach of the Year.  Crank will be recognized for this honor at the ABCA National Convention January 2-5, 2009 in San Diego at the Hall of Fame/Coach of the Year Banquet.

Crank, a 1988 Malone graduate, led Malone to their first NCCAA National Baseball Championship in 2006 as the team finished the season with an overall record of 40-20, breaking the record for wins in a single season (at the time) at Malone. Last season, Crank led Malone to a 42-16 season, again breaking the record for most wins in a season at the school, and directed the squad to a third-place finish at NCCAA nationals.
