Minority Scholarships
Polonia Foundation of Ohio, Inc. - Applicant must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States, of Polish descent and a resident of the State of Ohio.
Judith L. Weidman Racial Ethnic Minority Fellowship - Must be a United Methodist of racial ethnic minority heritage. A recent college or seminary graduate who has broad communications training, including an understanding of effective public relations. Considering pursuing communications for the United Methodist Church as a career. Able to understand and speak English proficiently, and able to relocate for one year.
American Chemical Society - Must be African American, Hispanic/Latino, or American Indian; A U.S. citizen; full-time student at an accredited college, university, or community college; high academic achievers in chemistry or science (GPA of 3.0 or better); evidence of financial need according to FAFSA and SAR.
American Dream Scholarship - Must be US citizens and permanent residents who are accepted or enrolled as full-time undergraduate students at approved, accredited institutions. Students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale), who meet Pell Grant eligibility criteria and African American with financial need.
First in my Family Scholarship - For Hispanic-American students who are the first in their family to attend college, and have financial need. Must be US citizens or permanent residents enrolled as full-time undergraduate students at approved, accredited institution. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
Community College Transfer Scholarship - For Hispanic-American students transferring from a community college to an approved, accredited four-year institution. Must be US citizens or permanent residents, full-time undergraduate students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
JoAnne Robinson Memorial Scholarship - There is no application form for this scholarship, but if you meet these guidelines:
- A full-time college student with a major in broadcast journalism and should be African-American
- Going into your sophomore or higher year
- Exemplify qualities demonstrated by Robinson:Ā hard-working, detail-oriented, strong communication and interpersonal skills, a dedication to excellence personally and professionally
Submit your transcripts, a written statement describing your personal background, goals, values, and characteristics that make you a candidate worthy of recognition and a statement from at least one college professor to: JoAnne Robinson Memorial Scholarship, WEWS, 3001 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44115. Applicants also can call 216.431.5555. Funds may be used toward tuition, books, and/or other educational expenses. The scholarship is $1,000 and the deadline each year is February 28.
Ronald McDonald House CharitiesĀ® - For students who are high school seniors and US residents of Asian Pacific heritage, or African American or Black Caribbean heritage, or of Hispanic heritage.
Hispanic College Fund - The program is open to students of Hispanic background majoring in business, finance, accounting, computer science, computer engineering, IT and many more!
