Choose one of these core areas:

Clinical Counseling

Clinical counselors are trained to diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders in community and private settings. This program is approved by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board and prepares graduates for the National Counselor Examination for State licensure. (60 hours)

School Counseling

This program, approved by the Ohio Board of Regents, prepares students to take the specialty examination to become a licensed, professional school counselor. Initial teacher licensure is not required for admission. (48 hours)

Classroom Based Counseling and Advocacy

Teachers will learn to enhance the problem-solving skills of their students and become more effective in dealing with diverse student needs. They also will become more knowledgeable about how behavioral, academic, emotional and cultural concerns impact the classroom. (36 hours)
