Sara Holtzman '08, a Communication Arts graduate, is now the assistant director of Thompson-Markward Hall, a young women's living facility in Washington, D.C.
Dom Liberati '08 is living in Los Angeles pursuing his music career. He recently released his album "The Good Hurt" and debuted his first official music video for his song "We Own the Night". The video just received two awards for the 2012 Los Angeles Movie Awards (Best Editing and Award of Excellence). Dom was part of the chapel band for 3 years, Varsity quarterback for the Pioneers and graduated with a B.A. in Commercial Music Technology.
Libby Bracy Doss '09 is the director of The Ananda Center for the Arts in Massillon, Ohio, a non-profit center providing a venue for artists of all genres to teach, learn, collaborate, and celebrate the arts. She has been named director of volunteer coordination by the Massillon Museum of Art. Libby and her husband, Travis, live in Canton.
Brian Budd '11 was one of 30 finalists recently chosen to compete nationally in Houston Texas for a scholarship as part of a Service Corporation International 2012 Funeral Service Scholarship Program. Brian is attending mortuary school at The American Academy McAllister Institute.
Andrew Eades '11 is the Internet Marketing Specialist at Spire Advertising in Ashland, a small Web Design and Internet Marketing company that works mainly with small businesses. works to get websites to rank in the top spots in Google and other search engines. He is married to Joanne (Badertscher) '11, a Spanish teacher at Crestview Local High School in Ashland.

Saint Wesonga '08 is studying for his Master of Science in Computer Science at Brigham Young University. He will join the Visual Studio/.NET team at Microsoft in Redmond, Washington after graduation.
Lynn Shoemaker '83 is an Assistant Professor of Education Intervention Specialist Coordinator for Graduate Education at Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Mount Vernon, Ohio. She is pursuing her PhD in special education at Northcentral University in Prescott Valley Arizona. Lynn, and her husband, Richard, live in Hilliard, Ohio, with their daughter, Kelly, and son. Michael. They have an adult daughter, Lauren.
Jason Wallace '11 is the manager and founder of the hip hop band Divine Soldiers. They have released three full length albums and performed with popular artists such as Toby Mac, Third Day, Michael W. Smith, and Family Force 5. The band, in conjunction with the Suicide Prevention Education Alliance (SPEA), works to prevent suicide and to help people recognize the warning signs of suicide and adolescent depression through education and involvement with community partners. Divine Soldiers is scheduled to release their fourth album in early 2012 and will donate a portion of their album sales to help the SPEA organization. Divine Soldiers was inspired to this mission in 2011 when Jason lost his amazing niece, Alexandra, to suicide at the age of 17.
Raymond L. Byers ’67 has been named the head of economic development for the Wayne County (Michigan) Economic Development Growth Engine (EDGE). Previously, Raymond spent 37 years at Ford Motor Company. Raymond and his wife, Linda, live in Plymouth, Michigan.
Dale Dragomir '76 is the pastor of Wilmore Christian Church in Wilmore, Kentucky. He also represents Aflac insurance. Dale and his wife, Rhonda, live in Wilmore.
Matthew Everhard '99 published his fourth book Christ Our Supreme Joy: Encountering the Glory of Jesus Christ, Kindle Edition. (Faith Church Publishing, 2012). Matthew is the pastor of Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Brooksville, Florida.
John L. Abbott ’03 serves as construction manager for the civil/municipal division in RETTEW, an Engineering News-Record top 500 design firm. He also mentors and trains staff. Abbott has more than 15 years of experience in civil engineering consulting and construction management. He has worked on projects for the Ohio Turnpike Commission, the Ohio Department of Transportation, and various other governmental agencies. Abbott has a bachelor’s degree in management from Malone University and a doctor of law degree from the University of Akron.
Jerry Campbell ’64 opened the Russell Haven of Rest, a family owned community cemetery and funeral home in Green Cove Springs, Florida. Jerry writes, “God’s abundant blessings started before graduation in 1964 in my life and have continued to this day. I agree with the psalmist in Psalm 37:25.” The name, Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery, comes from a combination of two ideas. Russell denotes the early name for the area in Clay County and Haven of Rest is from a favorite old church song, "The Haven of Rest," written by H. L. Gilmour.
Laura (Boatwright) Straniero ’06 is working with the missional group Word Made Flesh as the U.S. Representative and Advocate for Suti Sana, a therapeutic outreach for women affected by prostitution in El Alto, Bolivia. The six-month restoration program includes discipleship, therapy, classes on nutrition and finance and training with sewing machines. Her husband, Bryan ’06 works at the Geauga Youth Center (OH) with at-risk teens and facilitates a weekly Bible Study at Berkshire High School. The couple lives in Burton, Ohio.
"The Flashback Show with Lin McDowell" is the music of and interviews with the pioneers of contemporary Christian music. As Lin describes it: "It is an oldies-but-goodies show but with a Christian twist!" Lin, a 1996 Malone alumnus and a "baby-boomer" himself with a background of 15 years in radio, has faithfully researched the music and talked with the artists who share their insights and music on this unique one-hour radio program on o www.thelight959.com, WNPQ-FM on Saturdays at 6 p.m.

Mary (Esselburn) Grovemiller '70 volunteered at Cuyahoga Valley National Park for eight years after retiring from public school education. 2012 marks the beginning of my third year as a full-time volunteer for the US Department of the Interior. Volunteering with the National Park Service, I've served with the Interpretive Division both as a tour guide and education consultant at Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park in Texas and Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site in Montana. January will take me to a different agency, the US Fish and Wildlife Service. I will be stationed at the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge near Naples. My primary assignment there will be to write a curriculum for elementary/middle school students centered on the ecosystems of the region and the Florida Panther. In these experiences, it has been a joy to meet people from many other countries and to find friendship with other service-minded retirees who also enjoy satisfaction in "giving back."
Lee Lavery '66 directed With Their Eyes, a play based on the eyewitness testimony of students and staff at Stuyvesant High School, near the World Trade Center at The Kathleen Howland Theater 2nd April Galerie in Canton as part of the county-wide 10th anniversary commemoration of 9/11 coordinated by Coming Together Stark County and the Stark County Safety Forces. With Their Eyes is Lee's first production since returned to the Canton area after retiring as drama teacher and director of the Theatre Arts Department of Oakwood Schools in North Hollywood, CA.
Mervin C. Yoder, Jr. '75, M.D., a veteran researcher and pediatrician at the Indiana University School of Medicine, has been appointed assistant dean for entrepreneurial research at the school and an associate director of the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI). Merv is the Richard and Pauline Klingler Professor of Pediatrics and director of the Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research, the Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research. Paul Headland '64 and his wife, Sue, were inducted into The Salem High School Athletic Hall of Fame as recipients of the Spirit of Salem Award in recognition of their positive impact on youth. Paul was the catcher for Malone's first baseball team. Paul has coached many Salem young people in football, wrestling and softball. Since 1968, Salem teens have gathered weekly at the Headland's home for a time of fellowship, education and inspiration known as Heritage Church. The Headlands daughter, Stephanie Linder '94, played on the first women's softball team at Malone.
Dean Brown '75 retired after teaching 35 years in Allen County Ohio Schools. In his words, he is "trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up."
Rick Murphy '83 sent in this report after the earthquake in Washington, D.C., "I am now working for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Benefits Administration, Office of Administration, Emergency Preparedness and Facilities as a Project Manager. I work in the central office in Washington, DC...and yes, I got to rock and roll with the earthquake on Tuesday. I, along with thousands of others had a street party for about an hour and a half while they deemed our building two blocks from the White House safe to reenter. Haven't seen any Amish buggies in town yet but there are plenty of internationals on the streets of DC along with the homeless."
Pamela Diehl '95 was named Mrs. Great Lakes and will represent Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan in the Mrs. U.S. Beauties All World Pageant. An accomplished pianist and vocalist, Pamela is also a correspondent for Alliance's Press-News. She is a teacher at Northside Elementary School in Alliance. Dave Yakley '95, director of design at Malone University, was notified that Malone University had been acknowledged with two Awards of Excellence by the University and College Designers Association (UCDA). The national competition received 1100 entries, with only 188 awards given – two of those going to Malone University. The winning entries included works commissioned for The Malone Magazine: a photograph by Todd Biss Photography, and an illustration by Barry Fitzgerald, professor at the University of Kansas. Yakley provided artistic direction for the project, along with Amber Balash '00, content manager for publications and the University's website.
Kyle Radcliff '00 was selected to receive a 2011 Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching an honor awarded to the top 10 outstanding teachers in the Chicago area. Kyle teaches Math to 5th and 6th graders at the Newberry Math and Science Academy of Chicago Public Schools. Once awarded, Kyle will become a Fellow of The Golden Apple Academy.
MariLee Parrish '00 has authored more than 10 books in the past four years including her newest release 50 Ways to Improve Your Relationship with Your Husband offering Bible-based tips to strengthen marriages, devotional readings, plus action points and prayers. Chris White '01, the Pastor of Outreach at Gateway Community Evangelical Presbyterian Church returned to Malone to speak for two chapel services and an evening seminar presenting an overview of the Bible for the Malone Community. Chris, his wife, Jessika (Foutty) '00 and their daughter, Libby live in Slippery Rock, Penn.
Eric Sams A'03 married Kathleen Elizabeth Horning on June 11, 2011 at Alliance Friends Church co-officiated by his father Frederick "Rick" Sams '75. The couple lives in Hollywood, Calif. Eric recently passed the California BAR also having passed the Pennsylvania BAR. He is an attorney with Newman, Aaronson & Vanaman in Sherman Oaks. Eric's mother is Joyce (McElroy) Sams '75.
