Associate Vice President for Development
Malone University, located in historic Canton, Ohio, seeks an experienced, energetic, innovative Associate Vice President for Development. The associate vice president actively oversees the fund raising staff in initiating, developing, implementing and assessing various institutional fund raising programs in support of institutional goals and to ensure greater engagement of and increased philanthropy from the University’s varied constituents.
The associate vice president will play a strategic role in this exciting season as a unifying leader on campus who drives new development opportunities, strategies and results. The new associate vice president will support the mission of Malone University and work closely with the leadership to further strengthen the University’s distinctive competitive position and bring new programs to market. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with effective team-building skills. She/he will bring creative development ideas to reach prospective donors while continuing to adhere to the mission and strategic plan of Malone. Candidates should demonstrate experience with fund raising principals (i.e. moves management) and experience and results in fund raising in higher education. In addition to the required experience in fund raising, preferred candidates should be analytical, use data and information effectively in planning and decision-making, and be driven toward setting and achieving goals. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role includes high visibility with students, alumni, staff, faculty, and Trustees. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred, along with at least five (5) years of fund raising experience, preferably in higher education and in a managerial capacity.
