Clare Murray

Clare Murray, a lifetime resident of Canton, Ohio, has been involved with quiltmaking and fabric construction since 1980. She has exhibited her works regionally and nationally in both quilt exhibitions and multi-media venues. Recent awards include several first and second place honors and the exhibit of a one-person show in Houghton, New York, Wesleyan University in Indiana and Pacific Grove, California. Her interest in painting and surface design along with her quiltmaking skills led to a BFA degree from Kent State University in 1990. Interest in sculpture and domestic issues led to an MFA from Vermont College in 2001. Her work continues to develop and grow conceptually and sculpturally, still including fabric in some way.
